Nancy Tichy, Area Representative for the US Center for World Mission in Pasadena, carries on the ministry which she and her husband began more than a dozen years ago. (Frank died in January 2006, leaving a family of four married children and 13 grandchildren.)
Nancy directs a large missions resource center and lending library in Riverside, mentors those who wish to run Perspectives Courses in the Inland Empire, and contacts church missions committees and Christian school leaders to enhance their work in missions education.
She teaches at conferences locally and nationally, and writes curriculum material to use in teaching missions to children. Her articles have appeared in national missions periodicals, and she is the featured writer on missions-for-kids for the US Center's magazine, Mission Frontiers.
The Tichy’s and their children were the first missionary family commissioned by BFC in the summer of 1976 for ministry, at that time, in Liberia, where they served a total of 21 years.
