Paul and Joyce Setter

God led them to administrative/support roles, and their first Dallas assignment was in personnel.  During this 6-year period, Paul helped guide new Wycliffe missionaries in their preparation for first assignments.

In January 1985, they were sent to Malaysia with 4-year-old Eric and 4- month-old Karen.  They served seven years in administration there.   They went to Singapore in 1995 where Paul served  with Asia SIL.  In January 1997, the office was moved to Darwin, Australia, and they remained there until 1999.   

They returned to the US and the Graduate Institute of Linguistics in Dallas--- a specialized school that trains personnel for Bible translation, linguistics, literacy and related tasks in remote language groups.  Paul does the accounting work, and Joyce serves as a museum docent, in public relations, and in childcare.   Eric lives and works in Austin, Texas, and Karen is a student at the University of Texas in Austin.

Paul & Joyce praise the Lord for the significant work done through the Bible Translation Team.  In 1978 100 New Testaments had been completed; now over 600 have been dedicated.  Their vision is to have a translation work begun in  many new languages by 2025.
